Nearly hit the building, too!

Things I saw today driving through New Mexico but did not stop to photograph: * Many, many mountains * Including several ancient volcanoes * A sole elk * Tumbling tumbleweed * A large array of radio telescopes * Distant thunderstorms * Hills half-lit by the setting sun

I’ll be missing the Hatch chile festivities in Austin, but that’s ok because I am having lunch at the mother lode — Hatch, NM.

So my web hosting provider, who has included email hosting in their service package for the past 30 years, has decided to start charging separately for email, which would at least double my monthly costs. Is Fastmail still the recommended mail host? Should I go Google? Proton? Suggestions?

Had lunch at a place with no one behind the counter, with a touchscreen kiosk for ordering. And of course the thing wanted me to add a tip. For who, exactly? (And no, no one brought the food to my table when it was ready, either.)

Why does it take Finder longer to copy files to a drive on my local network than it took to download those same files from the internet?
